All Souls Day
Celebrating All Souls Day.
November is dedicated to pray for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
1. Prayer:
Make the Requiem prayer a part of your Family prayer this month. We put ours on a cardboard, painted with coffee ( Yep, you read that right) to give the old rugged look to the scroll. We will then add the list of family and friends who have gone before us. Light a candle and pray for them. Ours is still drying.

Here’s another prayer given to St. Gertrude:
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen
2. Clay Tombstones:
Since visiting the cemetery is not something we can do at the moment, we made some tombstones with clay, while talking about death and what it means; going back to our Creator. How we miss them here, but know that they are happy and praying for us in Heaven.
3. Plenary indulgence for the souls of the faithful departed:
The church allows a Plenary indulgence for visiting the cemetery in November and praying for the dead. Along with the other conditions of Confession, receiving the Eucharist and praying for the Pope’s intentions 20 days before or after the indulgenced act. Learn more about gaining indulgences during the month of November here.
